Before an individual item or link can be included in the ICF Research Portal, it must first be evaluated by the Research
Reviewing Subcommittee (RRS), a group whose composition is chosen by the leadership of the ICF Research and Education
Committee (R&E). The primary duty of the RRS is to evaluate and to categorize all items which have been submitted by external
sources for possible inclusion in the ICF Research Portal. These qualified and unbiased individuals have pledged to review
all items that are submitted to the organization on a first come-first serve basis. Through the course of their ongoing work,
this group will be tasked periodically with determining if any significant knowledge gaps exist within the research portal.
The intent of the ICF Research Portal is to feature content from the best coaching and coaching–related practices throughout
the world. For this reason, the RRS actively encourages individuals to submit items for the ICF Research Portal which have
been produced in non-English languages.
All research items and/or links submitted for approval should relate directly to the practice or profession of coaching. It
is preferred that each item submission include a brief author bio describing his/her credentials. In order to ensure the
integrity and quality of the research process, item submissions should have been created with every attempt to comply with
generally accepted research procedures; including, but not being limited to:
Indication when the research was conducted Statement of the problem or research question Review of the literature, design and methodology Coherence of theoretical formulations and appropriateness of conclusions Writing quality that would make a contribution to the coaching literature
** Wherever possible, the ICF will attribute the source of the item within its listing description. As many of the items
listed in the ICF Research Portal were not produced by the ICF, they cannot be considered “ICF Branded” research. The ICF
shall not be held responsible for any information or opinions expressed within these “non-ICF branded” items. Further, it
should be noted that the information contained within any of these “non-ICF branded” items shall be received "as is" and has
not been verified by the ICF for timeliness, accuracy or completeness.
CONSENT: The ICF reserves the right to reproduce on its Web site any item that has been submitted to the ICF for possible
inclusion on the ICF Research Portal. The individual who submits a research item and/or link for approval shall either be
one of the original item authors or a person who is duly authorized to grant permission for the item to be reproduced on the
portal.
